We're off the bottom of the ravine and began the climb straight up toward the rim. The snow was much thicker here, we're careful not to step onto a snowbridge which was too weak to carry our weight. Trekking poles were very useful here to pook through the snow to make sure it was safe to step on. Like looking for hidden crevasses.
